Colorado Springs police held a meeting Tuesday night to notify residents living near the Aztec Motel on East Platte Avenue about their new neighbor.

The “Community Notification Meeting” about Kevin Logan Alter was held just for neighbors in the immediate area.

Alter’s criminal history reveals that in El Paso County he was convicted of Sexual Assault on a Child by one in Position of Trust and Aggravated Incest in 2007.

He is now on probation and living at the Aztec Motel on 1921 E. Platte Avenue, #29, in Colorado Springs. He is described as being a male, 26 years old, 5’10” tall, 190 lbs, blonde hair, and blue eyes.

Alter is one of ninety-six Sexually Violent Predators registered with the Colorado Bureau of Investigations who have been released into communities throughout the state. Terms of his released include him reporting to authorities where he lives and reporting his new address any time he relocates.

It is too early, not to early.

perhaps the community should stop having meetings that do nothing to protect them and provide very few details and simply form a good old fashioned lynch mob. this would definitely keep crime at an all time low and nobody saw anything, "he/she just got up there and hung themselves officer," "must have felt guilty for their crimes, sir." hang'em high!

www.familywatchdog.com is one, I believe. They will also send you email alerts when a sex offender moves into your neighborhood.

Let us hope that he does not commit another crime. We let these people out of jail to early. It says that he was convicted in 2007? So he has served about one year for this crime. And who will we blame when he commits another crime as this one? The parole board should be made livable as well as the system if they fail in protecting our families.

he spent 1 year locked up for his crime. That is not enough time. Rehabilitation takes more then that.
