Gospel singer and songwriter Dottie Rambo has been killed in a Mother's Day highway accident. She was 74.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says Rambo's tour bus ran off Interstate 44 and struck an embankment. Seven other people on the bus were hospitalized with moderate to severe injuries.

Joyce "Dottie" Rambo was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame last year. Some of her more than 2,500 published songs were recorded by Dolly Parton.

In a statement, Parton said, "I know Dottie is in heaven in the arms of God right now, but our earth angel will surely be missed."

Hal, what is wrong with you? Have you no respect for human life and for someone's family? It sounds like you need to be thumped with a Bible, maybe you will receive love in your heart and have respect for others regardless of their beliefs.

That was a rude comment Hal. Think of what her family must be going through. My prayers go out to them in this rough time.

Hey! I said too bad, and I meant it. At least Rambo died before another installment of the movie is due out.

She inspired many in the Christian faith, she will be missed. I'm sorry her children have gotten such sad news on Mother's Day, even though they know she's with her heavenly Father. Many of us will celebrate her life!
