Anne said need more hydrants nice idea but just not that easy of a thing to do. Remember all of the water out there comes from private wells and the two pipe lines belong to private companies. Who are not about to allow you to just tap into them.

PLEASE KKTV and other stations. PLEAD with these smokers,(which I am one) to STOP tossing their buts out of their cars? My wife and I spent hours evacuating horses from the fire and it was SO SAD that this had to be done AGAIN! I am BEGGING smokers to THINK before they toss out their smokes! We got a call from a friend asking for help. These beautiful animals an their owners are being endangered by careless, thoughtless acts of simply not doing what is right and doing what is just convenient. PEOPLE, PLEASE take care with those cigarette butts!

Now that the fire is out I want to thank everyone who helped put it out. My step-dad is a fireman in Californiaso I know it isn't an easy job. Thank you so much & may the powers that be keep you all well everytime you go out!

What was never mentioned was that the fire came very close to taking out several of the wells that provide for cimarron hills and probably for the fire fighting effort out there today.

I hope the eyewitness comes forward if this fire was indeed started by the ignorant, self-centered and blatently lazy actions of a smoker. Further more, if this is true, I hope they prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

I drove out by the fire (5 miles or less from my own home to the west) and I just want to remind everyone to pray for the families evacuated and all those out there risking themselves to fight this fire...God be with you all!

I got word from a friend northeast of Hanover - they have been told to get ready to leave. The Fire is still on the west side of Peyton Highway as far as she knows but it really would be nice to see an updated map instead of a gameshow rerun.

I drove out there today and passed this fire..It was started, you could tell, on the side of the road..I am a smoker..I really wish other smokers would stop throwing their cigs out the window and causing thousands of $$ in damage.. Prayers going out for those folks who lost their houses or animals!
