The I.R.S. wants you to file your tax return online.
There is a catch, you have to qualify to file for free, but the I.R. S. says 78 million people are eligible.
Here's how it works. Log onto the I.R.S. website and you'll find a link to free filing. Then you need to find out if you qualify.
Either look at each companies guidelines or fill out a quick application and the Web site will tell you which site to go to.
Each company has different parameters based on income, age, and credit you are eligible to receive.
To apply to file your taxes for free, log onto www.irs.gov.
