After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. The main impact will be the cold along with winds gusting up to 40 mph at times. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
Pueblo city officials are interested in a proposal by Oklahoma Indian tribes to build a $100 million casino and hotel -- but not necessarily sold on it.
The City Council has voted 5-to-1 to sign a nonbinding letter of interest in the proposal by the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma.
The tribes originally wanted to build the complex east of Denver, but Governor Owens opposed that. Now they're considering a site along the Arkansas River in Pueblo.
The tribes lived in what is now Colorado until their members were forcibly removed in 1860s. Their leaders say they would drop their claim to 27 million acres of the state if the casino project were allowed to proceed.
Pueblo city officials say Congress would have to designate any proposed casino site as a reservation before the casino could be built.
