Smoking Ban Suspended

Updated: Thu 8:09 AM, Jan 16, 2003

The Smoking Ban has been temporarily lifted.

Pueblo's City Clerk's office said today there were enough signatures to get the ban suspended.

The issue will now go back to the city council. They could decide to repeal the ban for good, or send it to the voters in November.

The ban prohibited smoking in any public place. Many people were upset, saying it was an issue of personal freedom.

Those in favor of the ban say it's an issue of public health.
