11 News has learned the fire burning off Highway 207 in Otero and Crowley counties was 100% contained Thursday night.

Fire crews confirmed the good news to the 11 News crew at the scene around 9:45 p.m.

The fire started in Otero Country and jumped the Arkansas River into Crowley County early Thursday evening.

Fire officials say the fire reached Road A heading north. Seven agencies were on the scene and two road graders used to cut vegetation to prevent the flames from spreading.

No evacuations were issued, no injuries reported and no structures were threatened in the 400 acre fire.

My dad was the one to see it and call it in. I think that the fast response of citizens and emergency personnel makes a huge difference. I am so glad it is over.
