Free Speech Decision

Updated: Mon 4:37 PM, Jan 13, 2003

The U-S Supreme Court decided not to hear the case that
questioned whether the Jefferson County School District could
censor four-inch ceramic tiles made for the victims of the
massacre.

Some families and students used religious symbols on the tiles.

The school district wanted those tiles removed because officials
said it violated the separation of church and state.

Brian Rohrbough's son Daniel was killed in 1999 shootings. He
says the district had no business telling him what he could say in
two four-inch tiles.

The April 20, 1999 attack left 12 students, teacher Dave Sanders
and teen gunmen Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold dead.
