Phone Book Recycling

"The new phone books are here! The new phone books are here!" That was the classic line from Steve Martin in the movie, "The Jerk." But QwestDex hopes customers will get excited over the chance to recycle their old telephone directories.

QwestDex officials estimate only about 7% of Colorado Springs residents recycle their old books. And if those outdated books were laid end-to-end, they would stretch 77 miles---from Colorado Springs to Thornton.

Since QwestDex began its recycling program 12 years ago, nearly 160,350 tons of directories have been recycled.
