Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty in the case of an inmate accused of killing a corrections officer.

Investigator Drew Grant of the Arapahoe County district attorney's office says his office has filed its notice of intent to seek the death penalty in the first-degree murder case against Edward Montour, Junior. The 35-year-old inmate is charged in the death of Department of
Corrections Sergeant Eric Autobee.

He was supervising inmates in the kitchen at the Limon Correctional Facility on October 18th when he was struck in the head with a 4-foot-long ladle.
