Vail Resorts is waiting to hear whether any of the 7,000 Harrah's Casino employees uprooted by Hurricane Katrina want to work at a ski area this winter.
Three Harrah's casinos in Louisiana and Mississippi are closed indefinitely.
Last week Vail Resorts Vice President of human resources Rick Smith told Harrah's an estimated 5,000 seasonal jobs would be available at the Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, Beaver Creek and Heavenly ski areas.
But a Harrah's spokesman says the company doesn't know how many employees want to move.
Smith has also sent a job list to the former Lowry Air Force Base near Denver, where hundreds of hurricane evacuees have been living.
