A former U.S. Forest Service employee has pleaded guilty to a state arson charge stemming from Colorado's biggest wildfire.

Terry Lynn Barton pleaded guilty to fourth-degree arson during a brief hearing in Teller County District Court on Monday. Prosecutors filed the state charge to cover property damage done by last summer's blaze in Teller, Jefferson, Park and Douglas counties.

Barton faces up to 12 years in prison when she is sentenced on March 5.

Barton pleaded guilty last month to federal charges for setting the 137,000 acre Hayman Fire and lying to investigators. She is expected to receive a 6-year sentence at a hearing next month in U.S. District Court.
