Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
The future is in doubt for an excursion steam train that travels along the Colorado-New Mexico border. Money for the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad is running short and its locomotives are in need of attention.
The railroad is owned jointly by the two state governments. Officials and supporters say it is in trouble because it gets few subsidies and doesn't generate enough income to support day-to-day operation, capital expenditures and maintenance.
A four person commission that oversees the line is scheduled to meet Friday to choose a new contractor to operate the railroad.
