An early morning roll-over accident claimed the life of a 18-year-old Colorado Springs man.

Evan P. Kinnan was the passenger in the car. Police say it appears the driver lost control on West Woodman Road near Westwood Road. The car went off the road landing on it's side. Both the driver and Kinnan were ejected from the car.

The driver, who has not been named, was taken to Penrose Hospital with a serious head injury.

Police say it appears speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

If anyone is wanting an update on Craig, he is home and doing well. He is close to being the kid who we all know and love. Thank you to everyone who has kept him in your prayers.

Kay - Thank you for the update. Wow, I'm amazed he is in therapy. They said he had a severe head injury and I figured he would never be the same again. Is he the same person you used to know?

i just saw craig the other day. he was sleeping when i got there. he's doing the best he can to recover and has already started therapy a few days ago. this is the first i have seen my friend since the accident and it made me feel SO much better just to see him. i go to school with him and it's so hard not to see him in class. i've known both of the boys since we were little, and it makes me sick that some of you can be so cold hearted. i'm sure if you lost a loved one you wouldn't want anyone one critsizing. my friends made a mistake, one that many have made. some are just lucky and live throught it. so stop thinking you know everything and let us have peace. we will never see evan again and the last thing we need is someone telling us who's fault is was or "how stupid" they were that night. you didn't know evan, and you don't know craig, so please stop acting like you have the right to put in your opinion... unless it's good, i don't think anyone needs to hear it.

I agree with Amy, everyone has enough pain and grief without anybody adding insult to injury. I wish I knew how the boy who was injured is doing. The news has not reported on his condition. I just cannot get him out of my thoughts. If anybody knows him or has an updates on his condition, would you be so kind to let me know? Thank you.

I am disgusted by some of the comments left. How dare you say such ignorant statements!! Everyone has enough pain and grief, STOP being cold.especially because your ovbiously not deeling with the aftermath. And stop blaming the supplier! Teens can get alcolhol where-ever whenever, its a choice. These boys were amazing people and will be deeply missed. Thoughts and prayers to the families, and friends. And may craig come out healthy. Please take this as a lesson to yourselves, dont drink and drive.

There is a full investigation of this accident and the truth will come out. However, instead of blaming people everyone should learn from this experience. Our sons were in daycare together and grew up together. Both D20 and D11 students are affected as well. This was a tragic incident that will affect friends, family and community forever. Thoughts and prayers for all!

I drive by the accident site everyday and can see where the skid marks that their car left are. The part of the road where they crashed is after a couple of curves. I have two teenage sons and my heart goes out to both Evan and Craig and their families.

my heart goes out to the families of these 2 kids. i've been 18, drunk and behind the wheel. idk why i'm still here. i'm sorry this happened to evan. wake up kids!!!! we're either killing or being killed! thats the truth! WE'VE GOT TO STAND FOR SOMETHING OR WE'LL FALL FOR ANYTHING!

Posted by: ... Location: Colorado Springs on Apr 2, 2008 at 07:11 PM
ha.. i definitely think that kids need to be responsible for their actions. so they should be charged for their mistakes. but i'm also saying that the person who bought the alcohol should also be charged heavily. in fact, i think teens are getting away with things way to easily these days. But anyways, has there been any updats on the driver???

Posted by: Anonymous on Apr 2, 2008 at 02:05 PM
WTF, "I believe the people who supplied the alcohol need to be accountable..." That is scary that someone that young should say that. Does this mean that 18-year-olds should have no responsability for their actions? sorry to be blunt, but this country is screwed if that is the way things are going.

Posted by: ... Location: Colorado Springs on Apr 1, 2008 at 06:50 PM
I’m about the same age as these boys and I believe the people who supplied the alcohol need to be accountable. Kids would come to school bragging about how drunk they were last night or how there friend passed out drunk. Many times there parents are even home when this happens. Come on. I just hope more people will learn from this, even though it is still happening after similar incidences few years ago.

People should really have more sympanthy to those that are deeply affected by this tragedy. The facts are underage drinking is a crime, so is driving under the influence. One can not put full blame on the parents saying more deceplined needed, maybe the parents were too strict? (hmm)maybe this was a first time for drinking on the kids part? Where did they get the alcohol? The ones that provided it should be held just as accountable as the driver. Just somehting to think about. My prayers are for strength and peace for those deeply touched by this tragedy.

Posted by: David Location: Colorado Springs on Apr 1, 2008 at 09:27 AM
Just because people are ejected doesn't mean it's not possible to tell who was driving. And the police have witnesses who confirmed the facts leading up to the accident. So please don't be naive in trying to make excuses for the driver.

I know Craig Milos, he attends my Church with his older brother and parents. He and Evan made a mistake in choosing to drive after they drank...the road is a pretty straight road (the section they were on), and relatively wide, than as it passes the park and gets to the neighborhood, it narrows, and that is where the accident happened. Craig is still in critical condition, but I know he will make it! Its a horrible thing that Evan didnt make it, and my prayers are with his family, but i know Evan wouldnt want his friend to go to jail for a mistake that they both made....why should two lives be ruined? Isnt having to live with the fact that your friend died enough? Plus, they were both ejected from the vehicle, who is to say who the driver was anyways? Its a horrible thing, I pray for Craig, and Evans family....RIP Evan!

But lets lower the drinking age to 18 shall we....not. I wonder if Craig will ever touch another drink again in his life. Hopefully some good will come of this and Craig will become an advocate to other young people and teach them to not drink and drive. I pray for Craig what he'll have to remember about that night for the rest of his life.

i didnt know both these boys but they went to my school last year and 2 years ago. each of their parents are in my prayers. Craig you are also in my prayers and Evan R.I.P! today was a tragic day for everyone at our school. in memory of Evan everyone wore green cause it was his favorite color! We all ask you to please keep these wonderful boys in your prayers. cause no one would want to see this happen again cause it hurts. We all lost a sibling, friend, boyfriend and best friend. this was a tragic day because i have not seen so many people in my school hurt so bad. My best friend knew Craig and they were really close. So please in loving and kindness please pray. we love them and will truly miss Evan. i didnt even know them and i got chocked up.

Teenagers today need discipline. If there would have been discipline then maybe the 2 wouldnt have gone drinking and driving and thinking they are cool. Come on kids wake up you guys are the lifeline of the world to come

Well my worst fears about Evan just came true. He is the son of my friend and co-worker. My sympathies to the Kinnan family. I still stand on what I said in my earlier post. Such a tragic loss for something that should have never happened in the first place.

Posted by: ... Location: Colorado Springs on Mar 30, 2008 at 09:05 PM
um i believe one graduated from Palmer High and the other was a senior there... i think. the road was very bumpy (due to construction) and gravel on the side, and they lost control going around a turn. very sad to see something happen like this knowing it could of been prevented. :(

Posted by: kyle on Mar 30, 2008 at 07:47 PM
Evan was a good friend of mine if you could please pay your respect, yes they made a horrible choice in life and now he doesn't get another chance in life but he was a good kid. He messed up, he was not a mess up.. Rest In Peace Evan..

Evan Kinnan and Craig Milos are both amazing and genuine people. Evan will be missed greatly, and please continue to keep Craig and both of their families in your prayers. RIP Evan Kinnan You were an amazing person.

Did any of the kids attend any local schools?

Posted by: Gail Location: Peyton on Mar 30, 2008 at 05:31 PM
per Ashley: "They were very good kids and they were not involved in a lot of trouble. and they did not party every night all night long" Your last sentence tells it all Ashley. Wake up! they were mixing alchohol and cars, plus they were under age. Their brain is not developed enough to comprehend their actions and the consequences, much less their condition. No drunk of any age does. By your statement you are also young and naive. You are also justifying their behavior. For the record, it only takes one stupid action to ruin the rest of your life or bury you six feet under. Now the driver, Craig, will live the rest of his life knowing he killed his friend because he thought drinking and driving was cool.

Posted by: David Location: Colorado Springs on Mar 30, 2008 at 10:51 AM
And as of Sunday morning, according to other news sources, police have confirmed that alcohol was involved and that they had been drinking at a party in Peregrine. Where are the updates to this story?

Posted by: Ashley on Mar 30, 2008 at 09:02 AM
My heart goes out to these two young men. I do not who they are but I know many people who worked with the two men. They were very good kids and they were not involved in a lot of trouble. and they did not party every night all night long. This is tragic and my heart goes out to these young men and their families.

Posted by: David Location: Colorado Springs on Mar 29, 2008 at 08:41 PM
And the driver has now been identified by the police as Craig Milos, also 18 years old (note: the passenger was also 18 years old, not 19 as reported in the story above).

Posted by: Sarah Location: Colorado Springs on Mar 29, 2008 at 07:53 PM
Alcohol was a factor. The driver and Evan were both drunk.

Posted by: scott Location: colorado springs colorado on Mar 29, 2008 at 04:00 PM
the drivers name is craig milos

Posted by: David Location: Colorado Springs on Mar 29, 2008 at 01:31 PM
The Police Blotter suggested that alcohol may have also been a factor, which would make this even more tragic.
