Two Injured in Crash

We are learning more about an accident that knoced out power for nearly 500 customers this morning.

Springs police tell is it all started with two friends fighting over a car. They say a woman loaned her car to a friend who refused to return it. He apparently ran out of gas at the social security office on Academy and called a mutual friend for help.

The car owner and three other people allegedly showed up and ambushed him. Police say they boxed in the vehicle, and then pulled the man out through a window. He man reportedly broke free and took off running.

That’s when a woman allegedly got into a car, and started chasing him. She apparently lost control of the vehicle at Delaware and Marion, that’s near Academy and Galley. The car reportedly rolled over and took out a utility pole.

A passenger in the car had minor injuries. The man who was running away also had minor injuries. He is in custody. He is in custody, while police determine if he has felony arrest warrants.

Police first reported that a school bus was involved in the crash. They now tell 11 News that it was not hit and no children were on board.
