More Colorado-based emergency workers are headed to hurricane-ravaged regions of the Southeast, hoping to help people communicate in areas where communication is nearly impossible.
One satellite response team departed Monday. A second crew left from the Federal Center in Lakewood Tuesday, and should arrive Wednesday.
The teams will set up operations on the outskirts of heavily-damaged areas, establishing communications via satellite for local officials.
The crews have taken satellite phones, as well as their own fuel.
They'll remain on duty there as long as needed.
