An Ivy League-educated engineer accused of stabbing his mother to death has been ordered to stand trial in Colorado Springs.
The decision came during a preliminary hearing Wednesday after prosecutors played a video in which 27-year-old Nathan DeGeare described himself as the Antichrist.
DeGeare, who attended Dartmouth College, told police he moved back in with his mother in Colorado Springs last August after leaving a Seattle commune.
He said they fought because she didn't understand his need for independence.
DeGeare was charged with first-degree murder in April after police found his mother, 60-year-old Mary DeGeare, stabbed to death in her home.
During a taped interview with police, DeGeare said the Antichrist was responsible for his mother's stabbing and later said HE was the Antichrist.
