Gov. Bill Owens says he will try to find a government job for outgoing House Speaker Doug Dean.

In an interview with The Associated Press, the Governor says Dean might be his next state Department of Labor director.

Dean is on Owens' short list of candidates. That post is the last remaining important job open as Owens is reorganizing his Cabinet after winning election to a second term in November.

The governor says he believes the state's economic slide has hit the bottom and that this may be the year lawmakers lower the legal limits for driving under the influence.
