Our next storm arrives Sunday... cloudier morning skies and scattered showers make way for more widespread rain by the afternoon... snow for the higher elevations and mountains. Sunday evening into Monday morning offers the best window for locally heavy rain and snow. The mountains will see significant snow. Rain and snow chances continue into Monday as the system exits Monday night... head over to the "Weather" tab for more information.
People across Colorado are being urged to check their freezers for a particular brand of ground beef patties -- because they could be contaminated.
The Colorado Department of Health and Environment says an E.-coli case in Delta County is connected to the recall.
The unidentified adult was treated and released from a hospital.
Georgia-based Flanders Provision Company has issued a voluntary recall, which covers about 900-thousand pounds of ground beef produced earlier this year.
Health officials say a variety of beef patties with the Flanders label may have come in contact with a dangerous strain of E.-coli bacteria.
The recall includes frozen beef patties in two-, three-, five- and ten-pound packages. All contain the Flanders name, and the code "EST. 9145" inside the Department of Agriculture inspection mark.
The five-pound beef patties were sold at Colorado Wal-Mart stores. Wal-Mart has removed the patties from their freezer cases.
E.-Coli oh-one-five-seven-H-seven (0157:H7) can trigger abdominal cramps, diarrhea, and more.
Anyone with frozen patties included in the recall is urged to dispose of the ground beef, or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
