The Sierra Club is joining Pueblo in threatening to sue Colorado Springs over pollution from its sewer system.
Recent spills sent hundreds of thousands of gallons of raw sewage into area creeks. But Colorado Springs' municipal utility company says the lawsuits aren't necessary because it's committed to fixing the problem.
Construction of a new $80 million wastewater treatment plant should be complete by spring and another $73 million will be spent on improvements by 2008.
Pueblo's district attorney also threatened to sue because the pollution flowed downstream into Fountain Creek.
