Mason Fire: Evacuees Head Home

Mason Fire Evacuees Return Home

Residents evacuated by the Mason Fire were able to wake up in their own homes Thursday morning. Evacuation orders were lifted Wednesday afternoon, and some five-thousand people were allowed to return home.

The fire, which has burned more than 12,000 acres, is 60-percent contained, but officials felt it was safe for residents to return home.

Crews are still working to get the fire 100-percent contained, and expect that to happen by Saturday.

No injuries have been reported and no homes have been lost
