Two Fort Carson soldiers have been killed in Iraq.
Thirty-six-year-old Staff Sergeant Scottie Bright of Montgomery Alabama and 23-year-old Corporal Lyle Cambridge of Shiprock New Mexico died Tuesday in Baghdad when a homemade bomb struck their vehicle. They had been on patrol at the time.
Both were assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Carson.
Cambridge was a member of the Navajo Nation and was serving his second tour of duty in Iraq. He leaves a wife and two young sons.
At least 59 soldiers from Fort Carson have died in Iraq. Another 68 soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, which will move to the base when its current tour in Iraq is over, have died there.
