Federal authorities are seeking public comment on plans to drill eight new exploration wells in the North Fork Valley. The Gunnison Energy Corporation wants to drill the wells to see if there is enough natural gas and coal-bed methane to justify production on federal oil and gas leases.
Last year Delta County turned down four proposals to drill on
private land but approved one exploration well near the Gunnison
County line.
