At least two bears at the Breckenridge Nordic Center in Colorado don't know it's winter and they should be hibernating. Skiers earlier this month reported seeing the bears in a meadow area and they're guessing it's a mother and cub. Colorado Division of Wildlife district manager Kirk Oldham says the late hibernation is no need for alarm. Like other wildlife, bears may be struggling with the impact of the drought on their food supply. Some might not have found enough to eat to make through the winter. Oldham says it seems that at least one of the bears has found a den in the past few weeks and has begun hibernating.
