Authorities say a pilot of an F-16 military jet likely suffered nothing more than a sprained ankle after ejecting during a landing at the Lamar airport Tuesday.

The Prowers County Sheriff says the pilot decided to land at the airport when an indicator light came on in the cockpit. Authorities say the pilot ejected after realizing the jet wouldn't be able to stop before hitting the end of the runway.

The plane suffered some damage after it ran off the runway.

It's unclear where the plane was from or where it was headed.
