Updated: 05/14/2013 - I'm still focused on meeting my goal of doing a pull-up. And I'm almost there! But I'm always getting this question:
The Federal Aviation Administration says two people are dead following a small-plane crash this morning at the Akron airport in northeastern Colorado.
An FAA spokesman in Seattle says the twin-engine Cessna 421 was carrying two people when it crashed one-eighth mile short of the runway at the Akron airport shortly after 10 a.m.
The spokeswoman did not know the names of the two people killed. Washington County Sheriff Larry Kuntz says witnesses reported seeing the plane go into a nosedive and burst into flame when it hit the ground.
He says he hasn't yet been able to determine where the plane's flight started and where it was heading.
FAA records show the 35-year-old plane was registered to a Castle Rock resident.
