Snow is expected to develop for our Monday afternoon and overnight hours. Bands of heavier snow are possible..and something we will be monitoring throughout the day today. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for far northern El Paso County where ~4" are possible by Tuesday morning. Also ahead, a High Wind Watch for much of southeast Colorado from 4-11am Tuesday morning as wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph. Authorities have found the body of a missing hiker in the Great Sand Dunes National Monument. 29 year-old Jason Loving disappeared more than a month ago. His body was found yesterday. Authorities believe he committed suicide with a hand gun. An autopsy is scheduled for today.
The monument is 160 miles south of Denver and features 750-foot
dunes, the tallest in North America. Loving had stayed there on October 19th and 20th. An extensive search had been activated just after his parents filed a missing persons report at the end of October.
