University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill has filed an academic-fraud complaint against a professor who has accused Churchill of misconduct.
Churchill himself is the center of an investigation by the university into whether the ethnic studies professor plagiarized some work and fraudulently claimed he was an American Indian.
Churchill's complaint alleges that Lamar University assistant sociology professor Thomas Brown committed misconduct in research Thomas conducted to dispute Churchill's work.
Brown has questioned Churchill's assertion that the U-S Army purposefully infected American Indians with smallpox. Brown says the complaint is an attempt to intimidate him so he won't submit more detailed analysis of problems with Churchill's academic work.
Churchill has been under scrutiny since January, when the public learned of an essay he wrote comparing some September eleventh victims to Nazi Adolf Eichmann.
