Skier Incentive Program Ends

Gone is the deal Vail offered last year, giving carpoolers with
four or more people in a car a 20-dollar gift certificate for its
on-mountain restaurants. Vail gave out 240-thousand dollars in
``mountain money.''

Chief operating officer Bill Jensen says the program may have
only made a minor impact on the parking crunch.

Several ski areas have tried reducing Interstate 70 gridlock and
resort parking problems through carpool-incentive programs.

In eliminating their programs, the two resorts cited cost
constraints and mediocre success.
