Broncos Release Javon Walker, Ian Gold
The Denver Broncos on Friday released linebacker Ian Gold and wide receiver Javon Walker, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced.
Gold, a ninth-year player, spent seven seasons with the Broncos (2000-03, ’05-07) and appeared in 99 games (67 starts) with the club, totaling 542 tackles (426 solo) and 16.5 sacks. Gold, a ninth-year player, spent seven seasons with the Broncos (2000-03, ’05-07) and appeared in 99 games (67 starts) with the club, totaling 542 tackles (426 solo) and 16.5 sacks. He played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the 2004 season.
Walker, a seventh-year player, was with Denver for the last two seasons after he was acquired in a trade from Green Bay on April 29, 2006. He played 24 games (21 starts) for the Broncos, totaling 95 receptions for 1,371 yards (14.4 avg.) with eight touchdowns.
