Counselor Arrest Warrant

A federal judge says he's inclined to bar U.S. Marshals from arresting Jennifer Bier, a rape counselor who has refused to give the military records from her sessions with a former Air Force Academy cadet.

The ruling today will either allow U.S. marshals to arrest Bier, or put a restraining order out against them.

During a court hearing Monday, U.S. District Judge Edward Nottingham declined to immediately intervene in the military's case against Jennifer Bier, but said would likely grant her request to prevent federal authorities from arresting Bier until her case is resolved.

An arrest warrant was issued last month following Bier's refusal to turn over records in the pending court-martial of First Lieutenant Joseph Harding.

He's accused of sexually assaulting two female cadets while the Air Force Academy in 1999 and 2000.
