Growth at Fort Carson could require up to $2.3 billion in military spending on construction, equipment and civilian workers.
That's according to a document obtained by The Gazette. Military officials say the document is based on planning assumptions and predicts that up to two-thousand more troops could join an expected eight-thousand-soldier expansion at Fort Carson.
The Pentagon last month recommended that the Army Post get two more combat brigades and more than one-thousand troops for a division headquarters.
According to The Gazette, the report says accommodating all possible troops and equipment could cost about $2 billion.
