Although we are still tracking some light snow and icy/snow covered roads, the biggest concern for the morning will be the frigid temperatures. We are starting off with temperatures a few degrees above/below zero. Due to a breezy wind this morning, our wind chill, or what it "feels" like is well below zero. Please bundle up with numerous layers as you head out this morning. You will likely need to keep all the layers on hand throughout the day as highs reach the teens and low 20s with lingering flurries possible. Colorado has lost 60,000 jobs since the recession started in March 2001. University of Colorado economists say the state has lost jobs in only three of the past 52 years.
The previous annual losses hit in the early 1950s and in the oil bust of the mid 1980s. The high-tech bust of 2001 cost the state far more jobs than any modern downturn.
Joblessness has hit all racial, gender, age and economic groups in the same proportions as their representation in the general population.
