A team of Qwest sales employees at Qwest say they're being ordered to inflate sales figures or risk being fired. The Denver Post says those business practices continued at recently as October, despite federal investigations into the company's accounting practices.
A secret memo obtained by the newspaper shows several business account group members met with regional vice president Jeffrey Pearl to discuss the issue. Spokesman Tyler Gronbach said Pearl took immediate action when the issue was brought up, but he would not elaborate.
Gronbach said the sales figures used to pay account executives are not computed in the company's earnings.
