Continuing to track rain/snow showers throughout southeast Colorado this morning as wet, gloomy and cool conditions continue. If you are hitting the roads in the higher elevation (Teller/Fremont/Custer/ Monument) make sure you allow a little extra time as some roads may be a little snow covered. Wet pavement remains everywhere else. We'll see rain/snow showers continue for most of our Monday, clearing out before midnight. Head on over to the "Weather" tab for a full look at the week ahead.
An aggressive driver in a stolen car caused two multi vehicle pileups on I-25 near Monument Sunday morning.
One pileup involved 11 vehicles and another involved five. Colorado State Patrol dispatch supervisor Ray Eccher said nobody was seriously injured. He said authorities were not pursuing the vehicle when the accidents happened.
Southbound traffic was stopped for about an hour because the cars were blocking the lanes. Eccher said the driver's car was involved in the larger pileup. He managed to get out of his vehicle, walk across the median and get a ride from a passing motorist.
A man in his 20s was arrested on the outskirts of Denver near C-470. Police said the car was stolen out of Aurora.
