Recovery crews in Mesa County are working to reach the body of a Grand Junction man -- missing since a family outing in January.
A Mesa County Search and Rescue helicopter located 54-year-old Daniel Walker yesterday, after wrapping up work on the case of another missing person.
Crews discovered Walker on the ten-thousand-500-foot Grand Mesa, where he, his wife and 18-year-old daughter went snowshoeing January Ninth. Walker later separated from them to look for help after the trio got lost.
Rescuers found Deborah and Camille Walker two days later, following one night they'd spent under a tree, and a second night in a snow cave.
Authorities halted the search for Daniel Walker a few days later when overnight temperatures and wind chills plunged below zero.
