Fresh snow is bringing cheers of relief at some Colorado ski resorts.
Some resorts saw record snow, up to 10 feet, from late October to Thanksgiving. However, little had fallen since then.
Thursday is the exception with nearly 10 inches reported at Vail and some resorts in the central mountains.
In addition to answering the prayers of skiers, the new powder will help boost flagging snowpack levels being watched closely by farmers and city water utilities.
