Friends, students and relatives are making final plans for a memorial service to be held tomorrow, to honor the life of a Colorado Springs native killed in Oregon.
Authorities say 21-year-old Leah Trutna was a passenger on a motorcycle that crashed Friday in Salem.
Trutna died at the scene. It's not clear whether she was wearing a helmet.
The Western Oregon University junior was a three-year letter-winner in both cross-country and track and field. She also carried a three-point-72 grade point average in her major of biology.
Trutna was W-O-U's top female cross-country runner in three of the school's five races this year.
Her funeral will take place in Colorado Springs later this week.
