Following allegations of religious intolerance at the Air Force Academy, the Air Force is warning its commanders not to use their positions to advance their religious beliefs.
An Air Force task force has been looking into charges that evangelical Christians at the academy harassed Jews and others who aren't born-again Christians. A spokeswoman for the Air Force based at the Pentagon says the statement was sent out to all major commands Tuesday.
The task force is expected to release a report of its findings soon. The Pentagon's inspector general is also investigating whether an academy chaplain was fired for criticizing the power of evangelicals at the academy.
