None of Colorado's military bases will be closed in connection with Pentagon recommendations being announced this morning.
In fact, Senator Wayne Allard tells 11 News the Pentagon is recommending moving a brigade from Fort Hood, Texas to Fort Carson, and permanently locating the 2nd Brigade Combat Team from Korea to Fort Carson. He also says Peterson and Schriever will see net gains.
The only Colorado facility included on the list is the Air Force Personnel Center in Aurora, which is being recommended for "realignment."
The report is subject to President Bush's approval, but can't be changed.
