Washington D.C. Security Scare

Military jets fired warning flares, people ran from federal buildings and the White House hit code red --- its highest alert level. Guards shouted, "This is not a drill!"

A small plane entered restricted airspace over Washington Wednesday, prompting evacuations of Congress and the executive mansion.

President Bush wasn't at the White House at the time, but Vice President Cheney was -- and he was taken to a secure location elsewhere.

Business returned to normal a short time later.

The chief of the U-S Capitol Police says the two men appear to be "errant pilots." He says they were "on a straight-in shot toward the center of the Washington area."
