T-REX One Year Later

Updated: Mon 10:31 AM, Nov 25, 2002

It's been a frustrating year for commuters in the
metro area's southeast corridor.

Construction crews began knocking down bridges, building new
ones and widening the highway for the 1-point-67 (b) billion T-REX
project.

And while it won't be finished until 2006, officials say it
should get a whole lot easier for drivers on Interstate 25 after a
busy first year.

When the project is complete, the interstates will be widened,
19 miles of double-track light-rail line will be added, 13
light-rail stations will be built, and eight interchanges will be
rebuilt.
