Holiday Travel Plans

Updated: Mon 7:27 AM, Nov 25, 2002

Thanksgiving holiday travelers should allow extra time at the airport. Passenger traffic is still down for the major airlines since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, but many carriers expect to be flying full on prime travel days over the next week.

Denver International Airport's largest carrier, United Airlines, advises customers who are checking luggage to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before departure.

United says those traveling light should allow at least an hour, and if passengers are flying out of the country, they should allow two hours.

Just as they did a year ago, holiday air travelers will face extra- tight airport security measures, but don't try to bring hockey sticks, ski poles or 65 other listed items on board.
