The results from provisional ballots are finally counted more than two weeks after Election Day but they didn't change the results in some close legislative races. Mike Merrifield was confirmed as the first Democrat in a decade to be sent to the General Assembly from El Paso County. His lead over Republican Dan Stuart expanded from 75 to 112 votes. Election Day results also were confirmed in a Senate race in Jefferson County and a House race in Adams County, both won by Democrats.
