Denver is one of 100 cities across the country being targeted by union activists angry with Wal-Mart's wages and benefits. Yesterday a rally at the Stapleton Wal-Mart store drew about 100 protesters and 15 police cars. It lasted 45 minutes before police enforced a store manager's request to move the protesters from Wal-Mart property. Unions say the Arkansas-based retail chain doesn't pay a living wage to its employees. Wal-Mart is Colorado's largest private employer, with 19-thousand-600 employees at 56 stores.
