A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. Burn scars and areas that saw heavy rain yesterday will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
Ski resorts aren't content with some of the best early season snowfall in decades. With the exception of Loveland, resorts are firing up their snowmaking systems just in case Mother Nature does a repeat of last year. Arapahoe Basin is using its brand new snow guns despite a 28-inch base. There's little incentive for resorts not to make snow. Water that ski resorts don't use for snowmaking will be lost downstream.
