There's a new idea to help keep drivers safe during bad weather. It may make your commute a little slower, but it could save your life.
It's called a snow tortoise. And, no, it's not at the zoo ... but right on I-25.
Under the plan, when the roads are bad, a trooper drives at a safe speed, down the middle of I-25, to slow all traffic down.
And if you pass a trooper leading the pack, you could get a 3 point ticket for going to fast for conditions.
It's only being used in Douglas County right now. But it could be used state-wide, if it proves to prevent accidents.
