The Division of Wildlife and Colorado State Parks are preparing to divvy up their portion of lottery revenues.
The Division of Wildlife wants just more than $20 million and the state parks want $19 million.
The Division of Wildlife would use most of the money to buy land and protect it as habitat.
The state parks would use part of its money to fill in the Colorado Front Range Trail, which will connect Trinidad to Fort Collins. The department also wants to develop Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs.
A decision will be made Dec. 4.
