State Republicans are criticizing congressional candidate Mike Feeley for filing a lawsuit over the way ballots are being counted in the Seventh District.
Feeley, a Democrat, wants a judge to make county clerks count all provisional ballots. The secretary of state told clerks to throw out provisional ballots if voters failed to complete information justifying their votes.
Feeley says that information isn't required by state law. State Republican Party chief Alan Philip says Feeley is trying to change the rules.
Feeley trailed Republican Bob Beauprez by 386 votes before several hundred provisional ballots were counted.
