Weapon Inspectors in Iraq

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan says he's urging Saddam Hussein to comply with weapons inspectors who have arrived in Baghdad.

Annan says he wants the Iraqi president to ``comply fully for the sake of his people.'' And he says the whole world order is at stake.

Annan commented on the situation while traveling in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

An advance team of UN inspectors is back in Iraq after four years. Their mission could determine whether the Persian Gulf is plunged into a new war.

Chief Inspector Hans Blix says inspections are in the interest of Iraq and the whole world.

Inspectors plan to reopen the Baghdad offices they abandoned in 1998. They'll also set up secure phone lines and arrange ³transportation ahead of inspections that could begin as early as Nov 27.
